It was an incredible year for the Flint Hill Fund. As the Parent Chair for the 2024-25 year, I am excited to share some results with you. We had another record breaking year, raising $1,349,907! Thank you to everyone who joined in!

LS Music Teacher

LS Innovation Teacher

Our creative 5th graders noticed their JK buddies needed better toys and activities in their classroom — so they designed and built new ones in the Innovation Lab! Dollhouses, puzzles, games, and more turned the JK Classroom into a Husky Toyland. 🧸✨ #Innovation #StudentCreators

US History and Social Sciences Teacher

Upper School students in AP Psychology learned about the function of neurotransmitters in the human body. To commit this lesson to memory, students sketched cartoon characters that represent each of the neurotransmitters and describe how they function. Glutamates activated!

LS Language Arts Chair

Flint Hill alums have a tradition of hosting seniors for their month-long Senior Projects. Last year, five seniors partnered directly with alumni mentors. Kendall Jones ’25 got in on the fun by interviewing our alumni hosts about their careers and mentoring. Experiences like this build lasting student-alumni connections! #SeniorProject #HuskyAlumni

MS Science Teacher

7th graders had an “out of this world” experience — completing a science scavenger hunt at the Udvar hazy Air and Space Museum, then returning to school to meet and hear from real aerospace engineers! They learned about spacecraft, satellites, and Artemis missions, thanks to amazing parent connections. 🚀 #STEM #SpaceWeek

US Math Department Chair

Five Flint Hill students were MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge finalists out of 800 teams worldwide! They used math to solve real-world problems, like reducing power outages during heat waves. One of our finalists, Divya ’26 shared "it's really about collaboration, communication, and being part of a community." Teamwork and innovation in action! #Mathletes #RealWorldMath

Kindergarten Teacher

Kindergarten students brought the story of Stone Soup to life by making their own community pot. 🥣 They chopped veggies, smelled simmering broth, and learned about sharing and teamwork through this hands-on, sensory-rich lesson. Activities like these make learning memorable (and fun!) for our youngest Huskies!

Our community always enjoys coming together for celebrations — from Alumni Reunion Weekend and Grandparents and Special Friends’ Day to the Golf Invitational and Night on the Hill! This year was filled with memorable events and plenty of Husky spirit.

2nd Grade Teacher

Need travel ideas? Our 2nd graders have you covered! At the Travel Expo, they researched countries, created digital projects, and built landmark models — showcasing their learning and creativity. Who’s ready to book a trip? #TravelExpo #StudentWork

5th Grade Teacher

In 5th grade, students learned about how social scientists study history, geological dating, and artifacts. Archeology in the Community is a local nonprofit who educates the public about the field. On their visit to Flint Hill they taught students how to study artifacts using technology, as well as model some of the thinking routines professionals use.

US Ceramics Teacher

Flint Hill’s Clay Club combined art and innovation for a good cause, creating and donating 161 handmade dishes to DC Central Kitchen. Each dish featured a student-designed 3D-printed logo stamp. #ArtWithPurpose #StudentImpact

US French Teacher

French V and Business French classes just had an incredible Google Meet with author Binkady-Emmanuel HIÉ! He co-authored Visibles ! to shine a light on Black figures in French history — from trailblazing artists to athletes and politicians. Students read his press kit beforehand and got to ask questions, getting a powerful and personal look at the importance of historical storytelling. What an inspiring conversation!

Chief Human Resources Officer

Our faculty and staff are the heart of our school. Their commitment to our students and their families is evident in the hallways, on the fields, and throughout the community. Through collaboration and care, they inspire excellence, creativity, and a sense of belonging.

US Science Teacher

Our Environmental Chemistry students made a real impact by testing local water and soil samples — checking pH levels, phosphates, hardness, nitrates, dissolved oxygen, metals, and chlorine and a lot more — to uncover what’s affecting our environment. This hands-on project isn’t just about science; it’s about understanding our ecosystem and finding real solutions to local soil and water quality issues.
